ABOUT OTDUSHI THERAPY
Yulia Otdushi,
MSEd, LMHC, LPC,
Founder of Otdushi Therapy Inc.

Why OTDUSHI? My last name has a deep meaning to me. In my native language, which is Russian, "ot" means "from" and "dushi" means "souls." Helping people from my soul and connecting with their deeper selves has become my passion. My journey toward healing began with a personal awakening due to trauma. I believe that prioritizing self-care and learning to love yourself, despite past experiences, is the foundation for developing pure empathy, which spreads love and kindness to others.

Through meditation and art therapy, I learned to heal myself. Recognizing my calling, I pursued a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling at Hunter College, NY. During my internship and clinical practice, I supported hundreds of clients facing trauma, depression, and anxiety. These experiences revealed my talent for motivating people to love themselves, foster self-empowerment, heal anxiety, and cultivate healthy relationships with themselves and others.

In my private practice, I focus on helping individuals improve their self-esteem, alleviate anxiety, and build healthy relationships. By integrating a holistic and empathetic approach, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel understood and empowered to achieve their goals. THE SETTING
Presently, I work in virtual setting, where safety and confidentiality are the priority for you to feel heard and understood. Together, we create a non-judgmental and empathetic environment where as a team, we dive into your stories to understand your journey, explore your desired goals, and then create a plan to achieve them.
THE APPROACH
I utilize a holistic and integrative approach, combining my expertise in evidence-based
therapies such as Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Art Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I teach my clients to use practical therapy tools to enhance coping strategies, embrace self-trust and intuition, and connect their minds, bodies, and spirits.
WHY HOMEWORK?
Knowledge becomes powerful when mastered, which is why homework is an essential part of the therapy journey. After each session, I assign my clients tasks to practice what they've learned, continuing their self-healing outside of our time together.
